Things like that are never any good. Such a shame.

I've been reading about this a lot today. Too much speed, a real shame for the passengers and the other driver as well.

What scares me is that while i believe I won't be doing stuipid things like the driver in the CTS....any one of us could be driver of the minivan in our vehicles......

Update: the driver (kid) only had a provisional driver's license.

That was already a given as he was only 17

I heard them stress that a lot over the news, although yeah its a fact, I think there are more important things to focus on then if he could have 1 extra person in the car with him...things like how the car lost control.

It just seems the younger you are, the more crazy, inexperienced things you will do. When I was 17 I hit a another car and flipped it. I was driving stupid and I honestly do not beleive there was anything anyone could have said/done to stopped me from doing it.

A tragic situation, but this unfortunatley does happen all accross America on a daily basis. I had three freinds die in two seperate accidents while I was in high school. The real question is how do we remove this feeling of invincablity from provisional drivers?

You stop giving them huge expensive suv's. Make everyone drive an old beat-up but reliable, small and underpowered car like I had. Then they will have to slow down.

Also everyone make sure you remember winter is here. So slow down and give more room. Had first snow fall last night and saw a few accidents on the way to work. Believe the signs, bridges ice over first and stay that way the longest, so slow down. Even my wintersport m3 equipped S got a little squirrelly over a few of the bridges on 202 this morning.
