Umm you wont get parking for 90$/M- at best you will find around $220+ You will want to put your car in a lot every night. I cant tell you how many people I have seen get hit and run when parking on the street.

My friend lives in the Gayborhood, and pays $1000/M for a big 1B, I think you can certainly find a spot for much less. There are hundreds of places that meet your request on CL.

Your better off living in the city and getting around by bike.
Never did say parking for $90. I'm saying a septa pass to commute. Parking at the early bird rate or 10-12/day would be 200-250 minimum + any potential parking costs where I'd be living at.

I'm thinking it'd be ideal to just get a place in the city and bike everywhere as well. Probably will spend 700-1000 on a nice light bike. I guess I'll just have to look around craigslist.

Btw, gayborhood is around market and 8th, right? Just to make sure.

Yea, I called them up. I have to qualify for the "low-income" basically make more than 30k but less than 42k to qualify. Since that won't be happening, I guess these apartments are in the 1k for a studio and 1.2k for a 1 BR range....

I'm thinking I'm going to have to bite the bullet and look for a 1200/mo 1BR, but there seems to be a bunch of people talking about finding 1BRs for 1k, so they must be very hidden or if they come onto market, they are snatched up very quickly.

These seem really nice. No prices listed, so I'll have to call them up...... but it sounds like something to think about.

Called them up. Supernice, but they are starting at $1600.

^^^Maybe commuting is the answer. The money saved in rent would buy an A3 TDi and the money saved in parking = gas.

How about looking just outside of the city but on a train line? I'm not an expert of the Philadelphia area, but something like Willow Grove comes to mind.
