I have a CF hood that has recently oxidized, wondering what i should do or where to take it to get this fixed? Love the cf look but not with this crap all over it

Is the actual cf damaged, or is it just the clear coat that's being affected?

I have seen a few people get their clear coats stripped then replaced, though from my experience not many places will that that sort of job on. When I had a cf hood with a cracked clear-coat, I was told flat out that it was impossible by just about every shop I went to, since it's very difficult to sand down the clear coat without damaging the cf. However if it is just a yellowing hood, then it *may* be doable if they can leave some of the existing clear coat and just build it up again.

Good luck.

CF hoods do not have a clear coat on them, it's actually gel coated and the gel coat is what turns cloudy from the sun. I recently completed the task of wet sanding, 600 grit paper, and having the hood cleared. It still needs to be wet sanded with at least 2000 grit paper and then buffed. even with it needing the final wet sanding and buffing, it looks like a completely new hood.

As long as the gel coat is not cracked, any body shop can do this task.

sanding it and having it cleared should fix the problem...

yes, first they wet sand the entire hood with a good 600 grit wet sanding paper, then they clean the hood, spray a few coats of clear coat onto the hood and then the wet sand it again but using a 2000 grit wet sanding paper then buff to a nice shine...done
