Hello all,
I've been MIA for the past year (or more) school, graduation, work, and lot's of work travel. My car is all back together (new short block, rebuilt SC, new 2002 soft top).

The car is misfiring and not running quite right. I replaced the sparkplugs and gapped them at .032 and it was awesome for 3 days and then started running poorly again. The CEL went away after a week so I can't check the code on what was wrong......weird. After sparkplugs, I thought I should make sure my coilpacks are working properly. I wanted to swap out my coil packs with my roomates (He has a Silverstone S2K) but one of his 4 spark plug cover bolts was stripped!

So, is there anyone here that would want to get together for 20 minutes and do a quick swap to see if I have bad coil packs? I work in Exton PA and live in Manayunk so I could meet someone anywhere and I'll bring you a 6-pack of some good micro-brews (Hmm, let's see what I have in my fridge, Troegs, Victory, Abita, Flying Dog). If it isn't the coilpacks, I guess I'll have to have my shop look at it but I might as well do the simple diagnoses that won't cost any money.

Please let me know if anyone has some time to meet up, do the quick swap and get some free beer.

Thanks,

Anthony

Nobody likes beer? I'm having the Flying Dog now and it's excellent. In case you don't know, taking out the coilpacks takes about 2 minutes and is extremely simple/non invasive. All you need is an alan wrench and a 12mm socket.

Please help! It's been more than a year since it's run correctly and all I'm down too is something small and electronic!

Thanks,
Anthony

First, my honda manual says up to .41. I gapped mine at .38, ran lucas injector cleaner, then tapped all the injectors to shake any remaining pesky clogs and presto!!!! It's idling like a kitten. Now i put new plugs in, and did a coilpack switch to eliminate that being the culprit before hand. I really only had injectors left to eliminate. But i know it sucked when she wasn't running right. This is just a suggestion for ya. It's inexpensive and pretty easy to do. I ended up replacing the injector anyway, just in case, but it was running perfect after the cleaner and tapping.

OH YEA, by the way. If you going to either of the mini meets in KOP, we can swap there. I'll bring the tools just in case. It literally takes 2 minutes. It's very very easy to do. Changing a tire is more complicated. Let me know.
