I hate my job :-(
A little off-topic but i'm frustrated...
So a little over a week has passed since my employer decided to install new internet security software at work effectively blocking all access to non-approved websites. While I understand that this may be necessary to prevent some computer problems, protect private info, and improve efficiency, there has to be a better solution than blocking everything (and I do mean everything). I mean they blocked Google for crying out loud! The worst part is when I try to visit even an approved site, a flood of infuriating popups appear reminding me that I am using valuable company resources and to watch my usage!
I mean there are days where I wont see a customer for hours at a time. What am I supposed to do? Mop the floor 9 times in a row? Im just mad cuz I cant sit on s2ki and waste time when its dead in the store 
Those of you who have unrestricted web-browsing at work, consider yourselves lucky! Oh well. Sorry for the rant.
Oh and on a lighter note my car is done tomorrow!

Since you're a verizon retailer, don't you guys have like demo 3g internet units? I'd totally hook one of those up to the computer. *chuckles*

Yea that's pretty crappy.
There are days where I won't be busy for hours as well. They threatened to shut off my internet b/c I was online A LOT, and I just told them I would happily do work if there WAS work to do. Even joked that I'd go out in the body shop and "learn" how to repair cars. That kind of shut them up. As long as I get all my work done now they're ok with me being online.
Maybe talk to the boss and see what they can do. I'd just explain the situation, and ask for more work to do. If there's no work to do, explain how once you have everything done, you're bored, and mention the internet. It will make you seem the motivated employee.
