those were the good ol days.
Save the nostalgia for a rainy day

IMO, Dave and Buster's is about as central of a location for DelVal as you can get for a meet. It is really not a weekly type of place, but would be perfect for a Sunday evening meet. It really has everything...dinner, drinks, arcade. People could come before, during, or after dinner and catch up.

It seems like there are folks on the board that are into meets and those that are not. Again, please chime in if you are the former and have some suggestions.

A few of us have discussed this for a long time running now..... the best thing we could come up with was a weekly or every other week cheesesteak run in Philly. Like Jen said we meet..we eat...then those that wanted to go on a drive could...and those that wanted to stay and cartalk and whatnot could.

The easiest way to get steady participation would be if it was a set day (1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, or whatever) and a set time/place. One problem is we would need a reliable host or two that would definitely attend.
I think that cheesesteak runs are tough mainly due to the parking situation down there. In addition, how many of you feel comfortable leaving your S unattended 3 blocks away in South Philly? I'm not knocking the idea b/c obviously it has been done before with success, but those are just my thoughts on it.

As for hosts...another idea would be to have someone chime in before each meet to designate themselves host. All the host would really have to do is make the reservation and gather the troops in the parking lot.

I like where this thread is going...

D&B would be fine as a quarterly meet, just because it can get expensive. I like the Tony Luke's idea because there is plenty of parking out front and down the street under the 95 overpass. I would come out for a few of those. Chicken cutlet Italian sandwich

Personally I trust my car way MORE at Tony Lukes than I do at D&B. I do think D&B is a good meeting spot..but at least I can see my car at Tony Lukes whilst I enjoy a greasy treat.

D&B can be thug-ground zero lately..there was a shooting recently at Spring Garden and Delaware av (Columbus Blvd for the n00bs) .
My bad, I thought you were talking about the clusterf$%# in and around Pat and Geno's. Regarding the thugs, hopefully they will be sleeping their hangovers off on Sunday evening. I'd be up for anything that has good parking and is central to everyone.

That was my other negative thought about D&B... $$$$$ you really have to pay to play there!

only problem I see with tony lukes is it's right in the center of the street races.

What's the deal with the Fuddrucker's weekly meets? They still have them? The few that we went to were fun and interesting. There's food right there, and just a casual, hang out, see all the cars, and hang out some more get together.
