Default Feedback from New Hope Run

I just want to thank everyone for showing up on Saturday at the New Hope meet. I believe the count was 42 cars. Very impressive. I also want to apologize for my disorganization in the parking lot getting everyone lined up for the drive. Next year it will be much better. A BIG thanks goes to Gary for coming up with the idea of Tinicum park and the BBQ. He is the one who really did all the work. Also to the Metro NY group who traveled all that way and stayed all day AND helped clean up.

I think that the meet was a BIG success but I also believe it can be improved. I am throwing around the idea of making it a 2 day event and would like feedback on that also. Please use this thread to express your opinions of the day both good and bad and suggestions on how to improve it. It obviously is a very popular meet and I think we all would agree we would like it to continue. Thanks again for everyone who helped out.

Paulie, you did a great job organizing. Everything went perfect. A 2 day thing would be great, but the locals might not go for it.

Paulie I think it was a great time and the park was a good
Idea too. I don't see why it couldn't be a two day thing we
could use our own little event around here. I would be up
for that. Even if you don't do two days I would still come
again next year and I'm sure most of metro would too
you guys did a great job. thanks for everything

Paulie- As always, my two cents:

I think most of us see the New Hope Run as our marquis DelVal event for the driving season. For that reason alone, it probably warrants some investigation as a two day event.

As a two day event, the amount of coordination, organization and effort to pull it off gets much larger. Although this is a negative effect, it can obviously be overcome

Personally, I am really split on this one. I saw this past week as a success. There were some small snafus, but all were eventually resolved. Some facts: 40 cars. 26 DV, 14 Metro (by perceived primary association). A few new faces in DV were there, a few regulars were unable to attend. For DV people, I don

Yea i left first when i wasn't supposed to. Sorry about that, everything got worked out in the first rest stop.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but there were more cops on the way back. I have a feeling they were looking. (i could be completely wrong.) Just something to consider.

I think it was a near perfect day! I wish we could have had more Del Val peeps there.. I know Saturdays are tough for some (me included), it was great to see so many Metro folks there

The traffic was not as congested as some of the squirrel nutz runs...that being said earlier is better

Expanding to a 2 day event would be great, but as Gary said the planning and organization would increase dramatically. The bbq was a really nice time, a lot of peeps had to leave early which was a shame..if we could have more people stay we could plan some fun activities or games for after the drive. Or go to a water park/drive-in, etc/ something as a group

Thanks again to Paulie and Gary and the people who offered to be group leaders.

Starting earlier would have had two benefits, less traffic = more driving and people like myself and trich, would have been able to stay later. I missed all of the frisbee throwing, I brought two of them w/ me and never go to throw them.

I thought this event went really well. Hat's off to Paulie and Gary for making it happen! Sorry I couldn't stay later but I had friends taking me out for a birthday dinner.

As far as expanding the event, it's a great idea, but as others have stated having all the other issues that come into play with a two day event can pose a problem. If you decide to explore this route I will do what i can to help out. Just let me know
