Default Detailed: 2008 Infiniti QX56

This is a 2008 Infiniti QX56, silver with a black leather interior.

I have not detailed anything this large, in quite a while.

Before I proceed, I would like to thank Ken from Autowerkes Exclusive for answering my questions. I called him, as I had never detailed an Infiniti before, and wanted to know what the clearcoat would be like on this beast. He was very helpful, and a great person to talk to. Thanks Ken!!

Now onto business.

The vehicle's exterior wasn't too bad of shape, mostly some tree sap and a few areas that had some scratches from who knows what. The owner bought it used, and said the marks were there when he took delivery.

If there were swirls, this color hid them pretty damn well. Under the sun, Fenix, and brinkmann, and really didn't see anything. That was a relief.

The inside was full of sand as he just came back from vacation at the Outer Banks.
Other than that, the interior was in good shape.

Now onto the details.

Wheels/Wells/Tires:
The wheels were cleaned using Ardex Mag O.E.M. with a Raceglaze XL brush and a SV wheel brush. Tires were cleaned with AG CWC and a stiff brush. Wells were cleaned withCG Grime Reaper (3:1) and a fender well brush.

Tires dressed with 303 Aero, wheels sealed with CG acrylic blitz, and wells dressed with CG Bare Bones.

Engine:
Cleaned with Grime Reaper and various brushes, dressed with 303 Aero.

Exterior:
Pretreated with Roger's secret stripper mixture via a 1Z atomizer. Left to dwell for a bit, then washed with Sonax shampoo, via 2BM and a MB sheepskin mitt.

Vehicle thoroughly rinsed, and dried.

Clayed with Sonus green and Meg's last touch @ 1:1.

Tree sap removed with Lifter 1 Bug & Tar remover Lifter1- Products- Bug&Tar Remover

This stuff works awesome on tree sap. Made it so easy to remove.

Spot buffing with Makita/Uber yellow 4"pads/M105.

Rest of the paint received G110/4" black pads/85RD.

Glass cleaned with CRC dash&glass and uber glass towels.

Paint was sealed with Werkstat AJT.

Interior:
A lot of vacuuming, as you will see in the pics. Plastics wiped down with 1Z DPC, leather got 1Z leather care, glass got CRC cleaner. Seals got 1Z rubber stick.

I had a hard time capturing the scratches with the camera, so the pics might no be the best. :sorry:

Now onto the pics.
