Default damn dogs...

Well i'm out cruisin on some back roads. I wasn't pushing it since the road was a bit wet still from last nights rain and my rear tires are balding. All of a sudden a black lab comes running out of the woods right in front of me. I swerve to avoid him and my back end breaks loose. Now mind you, being on a back road there wasn't much of a shoulder (actually none) and along the road was this old stone wall. Well my rear clipped the wall. Broke the taillight and scraped up the rear fender, bumper and wheel. so for all you dog owners out there (me being one) DON'T LET YOUR DOGS GET LOOSE!!

Sorry to hear about the car. If it's any consolation, I imagine you would have felt much worse if you hit the dog (guilt>anger/frustration).

oh. most defineately. if i would've hit that dog i would've felt absolutely horrible. I've been a dog lover all my life so they are like people to me. Right now i'm just frustrated because i just got the car fixed from my neighbor backing into the front fender. so baaaaaaaaaack it goes into the body shop.

That sucks but I have to wonder, would new (er) tires have helped the situation?

But imagine if that was your dog. A car can be fixed but losing a part of the family (usually) is much more devastating.

Just playing devil's advocate to your statement. If it were a choice between saving a dog's life or losing my own, well the choice would be obvious (I'd save myself of course).

yes freq, new tires would've defineately help. I'm on a semi bald set of allseason tires. Grip sucked. the reason for the rear to break was the fact the road was wet and my tires are just about shot. if it wouldn't have broken, i probably would've been fine.....lesson learned, when you need tires, get them. don't try to stretch your bald tires just one more month!!!
