Geez, Scot.....I hope you keep an inflatable in your vette....ready for the next "high water"

At least it's high and dry on 17th Street. I grew up on the far north end of that street....1200 block....before it ends in the By-Pass
ahah... once in a while this goofy little creek behind my work (not even sure what it is called... it runs parallel to cameron) floods but that is mostly at MaClay street...never enough to get anything floating by me...

wow...near the Armory on 17th street? (i think the Armory is actually on 15th but)..... that is all psuedo ghetto now unfort.

almost anything within the city limits is ghetto now....lots of litter, boarded up houses, wrecked cars, etc...... Wilson Park near Kline Village is about the only place I would even consider living...

Trust me.....Cameron Street was a "river" after Hurrican Agnes hit the area in 1972. We were newlyweds and lived on the top floor of a townhouse in the 300 block of N Front Street. We watched appliances, 275 gal fuel tanks, etc....all floating down the Susquehanna River (some of it getting stuck under the Walnut Street bridge....which is why it was closed to vehicular traffic after the cleanup).

What we called the "Armory" at the NE corner of 18th & Herr Streets; most recently offices for the GSA ? My dad used to take me there as a kid to look at the cannons and feed the squirrels.

The National Guard Armory IS at the end of 19th Street....assuming it's still the Guard facility?

When I drove thru that area the last time (2-3 years ago), it was actually lookin' pretty good......most houses well kept etc. My family sold that house in 1955 and moved east to Susquehanna Twp. Hey, you can tell that I'm ....

Funny that you mentioned Wilson Park, Scot. That's where my dad moved after the Susq Twp house was sold. I also drive through there occasionally....looks just the same.

I had a house in Wilson park but i sold it. Renters are generally hogs and that area is too nice to rent...

Melrose gardens is near there... it has started to turn ghetto. Shootings, thumping music, mexicans with 10-15 people in one house, asian families with the same 10-15 people, etc....

At some point i have owned about 8-10 different melrose gardens places but i am selling everything. even with employed tenants they still destroyed my houses up there.... almost all renters suck in harrisburg...
