[QUOTE=jmargelo,Jul 21 2006, 08:53 AM]Have a bigger version of that? Looks like the route goes up 516 right passed my parents house.

Joe, it looks like Rockville Rd would be a more interesting leg than 216, which it parallels. I trust it is smooth - remember Dan can't stand any bumps. I haven't been on it that I remember, but will try it out shortly and make the change to the route. Thanks for the tip.

I think you can copy the map to a picture editor and zoom in. If you want to PM me your email address, I can send as an attachment that you can zoom. It is from Garmin MapSource if you happen to have the software.
I tried to zoom with paint, but it got too blurry to read. I'll send you my email addy. Rockville Rd. was in good shape last time I rode on it. They just repaved 516 to the north and 216 to the west of where they intersect, so those roads are much better than they were a few months ago.

Another option to consider could be a detour to Codorus if we wanted to do a BBQ/Photoshoot by the Lake.

good point about codorus joe!

that map even though i couldn't see it too well didn't really have much around prettyboy reservoir. but that is easy to fix since it's right around the corner from the middletown/beckleysville rd area.

bill i haven't replied to your pm yet but i am about to with my email address so that you can send me a bigger pic of that map route

Let's see what dates people can make for the Prettyboy run. I am open any Sunday and most Saturdays in August.

I'm down for a good Sunday drive as long as there is like a 2 week notice so I can call off work. Saturdays are uncertain at this point in time.

Looks like it is shaping up to be on a Sunday, August 20th or 27th. I am OK for either one. Does anyone have a conflict or other preference ?

Joe, we cruised Rockville Rd yesterday. You are so right about it being better than 216.

We sarted from the Glen Rock end heading West. Topping a hill about mid-way, that reverse camber blind curve took me by surprise, and we unintentionally got into a full four wheel drift. In fact, we came close to drifting right off the road. I had enough presence of mind to keep my foot in the exhilirator until we straightened out.

Recovered OK and will be ready for that one next time. I think I may need to get some new rear tires.

That curve is great, especially headed west. Glad you survived it.
