I have been trying to get something together for awhile now, this has been a project of mine in my free time for almost a year. There is only 2 traffic lights for the whole run, and most of the roads have been repaved. The run starts in Shartlesville and right away puts us on a road with lots of twisties. There is a brief break on route 143, a more casual smooth easy road before turning off toward hawk mtn for the final leg which ends with a ridiculous climb over a mountain and back again, before ending at Heislers Dairy. They have amazing food there, a giant parking lot and pavilion style seating. The place is packed on sundays with people cruising bikes, hot rods etc... This is gonna be a great time!
Video I took last fall of one of the roads that will be on the route:

Post up if you are pretty sure you want to go, if we have over 15 cars I will need another leader. 15 is doable since there is barely any traffic lights, but thats the max I should probably take on just for the simple fact I may not be able to see the end of the line in my rearview.
Again, I spent a lot of time making sure this was as perfect as possible, so it will hopefully be a great way to end the season!

Extra Details (by Don)
I just ran the run today (9/19) and I can say, it's friggin amazing. Mucccccch better than the LV Run! But gotta be cautious, as there are way more 15mph 90 degree blind turns here than you'd imagine. Roads are 98% smooth & debris free.
Also, Heiselers has a great Mini Golf course for $5. I've played there a couple of times and it's great. So plan on some mini golf post-run. I'll lead a group on some backroads back to 78/476 post Lunch & Mini Golf.
Checklist
- Cash! (No CC/Debit accepted at Heislers!) $10-15 a head will get you plenty of food.
- Tire tread
- Tire Pressure
- Brake Pads (you WILL be using them)
- Clean windshield

as more feedback comes in, i am willing to move the date to the following sunday if i see a pattern of people not being free. anything past mid october is risky though, because heislers closes for the year around that time depending on business. just make sure you post your opinions, if you think the date is good or i should move it back a week in order to get a better turnout!

I'm in. I'll lead a group.
IMO, 15 is a little ridiculous though. At about 7-8, it get's tough, because the end people don't even get to really go full throttle taking off... but, it is what it is =).

interested. seems kind of short tho- spirited groups will prob average 60mph on straights and this might last 30 min max? we coudl then drive to the LV Tunnel!
just my input thanks for putting this together corey.

oh don't worry about the length, the route dips waaay south before heading back north to heislers. also, the beauty of it is that in the future, heislers can be used as a halfway point to our old ending point at platz's, to make a huge mega all day event. but for now i have to finish this half. i plan on going out on sunday and trying to finalize everything, and then the route will definitely be posted. donald thanks for volunteering, i was only gonna do a big 15 car group if no one else wanted to lead. i will keep everyone posted on route information and start time.
