Berks/Lehigh/Skook Group Drive, Sunday August 25
Date: Sunday August 25th
Time: 9 AM
Start: Loves Gas Station, 3700 Mountain Road Hamburg, PA 19526
End: Heisler's Dairy, 743 Catawissa Road Tamaqua, PA 18252
Ok guys, this is the route that I came up with years ago, I believe you have done it once when I was away. Now its time to break it out once again. Its 65 miles, with only 2 traffic lights! It takes us through Berks, Lehigh and Schuylkill counties. We meet at loves gas station just off 78 in shartlesville. We end at heislers dairy bar, which has good food and a driving range and mini golf. I can lead anyone back to the interstate afterwards if need be. I know you guys from Philly have a long drive, but its definitely worth it. We will see how much demand we have, most likely I will need a second leader, preferably someone who has done it before.

A few things to always remember for these group drives:
-Check tire pressure, please don't show up with bald tires either.
-Have a full tank of fuel before we leave.
-Please print directions, or have route stored in your phone.
-I personally prefer to lead drives under the rule that I don't like to do 100mph in a straight line. When we hit the turns, things get intense, but I have no desire to do high speeds the entire time, it invites danger such as people pulling out in front of us or getting busted for speeding.
-Any other suggestions here are welcome.

"This is not a race, this is not a rally. This is a drive through some great roads in the area. YOU, and YOU alone are responsible for yourself and your car, plus EVERYONE'S safety. Antics won't be tolerated, the stakes are too high. Don't tailgate, leave enough room to properly deal with anything that may happen in front of you. It is as simple as that.
We've been fortunate that DV hasn't had many mishaps over the years. The drive is about enjoying the car and company, not about how fast you go or who you pass."

I'm going to say IN for now.
Just a warning, The last time we did this (at least the time I went), the gas station didn't have 93. Not good for any of us that are particular with the gas we use or must use 93 for FI reasons. I'll have my camera equipment and gopro like last time.

What, I don't get added to the "in" list? I know, I have the dubious reputation of not showing up to things but I've got my fingers crossed on this one. I already have my permission slip signed and everything!
