Are you having trouble with torrents or Skype?
Thought I'd share this with my buddies.
This is not your standard internet rumour. No one forwarded it to me, but I have been troubleshooting my torrent client for some time now (about 3 weeks). It downloads fine but doesn't want to upload. Consequently my well maintained Share Ratio is plummeting. It won't be long before I'm banned for being stingy.
Today I found out that Comcast is employing a choking device to interupt P2P packets. It's called Sandvine TST-Packet-Spoofer. Here's some information on it.

I'm currently looking for solutions but thought you might benefit from this information. It will impact torrent clients, Skype, and any Peer to Peer not originating within your ISP's domain. Some of you may currently be having problems, others may eventually. This might be why.
One solution may be a VPN... I'm investigating.

well if you use VPN then basically you're remoting into the office to bypass the blocks, but that seems inefficient
if you use SSL then you need a centralized server and then it wouldn't be p2p anymore
i suppose VPN is the best option, but not everyone has that option available to them
