Default Woohoo! New Top!

Yeah! Honda just called me. They have all the parts in for my top conversion to the glass window. Supposed to happen next week. So excited.

For all of you that don't know, my top is wearing through from normal use. Honda has agreed to replace it and I only have to pay the difference to the new top. Should be around $300.

Beaverton Honda. The service Manager is Andy Plunket and he owns a Spa Yellow with chromed wheels and a hardtop.

Do me a favor and wait until I get my top before contacting him. I don't want them taking back to offer once they figure out more will be coming. Besides...once mine is done you can use the old..."but you did it for that guy!"...

Be aware....I had to waive the 12 month 12K mile warranty they would normally give for a warranty replacement. This is because it is not an approved Honda conversion. I will also have to wire the defroster myself. I just really wanted a part that wasn't defective and that glass window!

You know...that's the funny part. I went in there expecting a fight just to even get it replaced with a top from the same year. I even had all of these printed threads from other people just in case.

I just showed him the hole and decided to just see what they said before demanding anything. He offered a new top right away! I was shocked...

So then I ask about the glass window conversion...he was all the sudden really interested cause he wants it for himself! Asked me where I got the info and I asked him if he had web access...

I showed him all the info on this site. He agreed it was do-able but was having a hard time getting his manager to approve it because it's not an "official" kit from Honda. That's when I asked about waiving the liability.

They are going to start on it Tuesday.
