YEP its somewhat rewarding & comforting to know you can just walk out to your yard & come back with food
I had planted a Cherry Tomato & a reg one early this spring and the Cherry one is the funniest type tomato plant I've ever grown bush like & TONS of lil guys on there been picking a minimum of 10 a day & the reg ones are now getting pickable.
I may make some Puree for future sauce many carrots in the dirt as well!

possible Linguini Pomodoro

Love cherry tomatoes! We grew a new one this year called Shimmer Hybrid. They are these little tomatoes about the size of cherry tomatoes, but have this odd coloring that is a mixture of dark green fading into yellow and red. They taste great, and we have tons of them on the plants !

We also have some other larger cherry tomatoes, some Romas and a bunch of Black Krims which are pretty awesome.

One thing to do if you have way too many to eat is to blanch them, pull the peels off and then freeze them. I do that with some so I have tomatoes ready for making sauces and stuff. And otherwise, I like to make salsa and can that up for future use.

yeah I give my neighbors some safely - contact but do plan to freeze some puree for future sauce, Salsa is yes another plus when its YOUR own fresh tomatoes & cilantro , peppers etc...
I have cucumbers starting to climb the ladder and one squash plant slowly getting there, we built 2 very long boxes and one smaller square for herbs , all are watered and fertilized automatically ( C-6 likes doing that kinda stuff ) even built a Hydroponic Box last year butt we took it down later
