Canon Powershot G3, so digital.

It's a very good camera, I like it. SLRs would be better, of course, but for a "pro-sumer" camera, I think the Canon Powershot G cameras are great.

Let me know if you'd like high resolution versions of the pictures I posted.

i remember that was my dream camera. i thought the variangle LCD was the coolest thing ever!!

i will be getting a (cheap) dSLR in the next month. kind of a big jump from my fully-automatic cameras but i think i am ready. the prices on these digital SLRs are too tempting for me.

Yeah, there's no reason not to get a dslr these days if you're serious about photography. I got my G3 a few months before Canon announced the Digital Rebel. I was a little bit upset about it, but I'm happy with the G3, so I guess I can't really complain.

In a few years, I might consider getting rid of the G3, and buying a DSLR and a second (smaller, more automatic) camera for when I don't really need the SLR.
