I mounted the remote on ther dash just below my Passport 8500 X50. It's a cool, very bright blue light.

The only problem with this is then you lose the benefit of rear RADAR. it needs line of sight to the rear as well!

the remote display is nice, i used to have it to the left of the dash next to the A pillar. I hardwired in my old car to the big fat yellow wire that goes to the fuse box.

The main display is indeed dark when using the remote...nice to keep freeloaders off your tail Noone can tell you have a detector in there if you mount it close enough to the rearview mirror

Hmmm. I'm considering that then. Sounds effective. I like the idea of stealth. I would rather not have what will be a big red light up there.

If you read the first thread you'll find a cool experiment that ends up pretty much saying the best mount is near your mirror... stealth or not.
