As most of you know, my wife is visiting her family in Idaho, and I am left alone to live the Summer of Zoe. I miss her terribly and sometimes find it difficult to pass the minutes we're apart. I was sitting on the deck, looking out into the inlet (after devouring a ribeye and a couple of 's ) and decided that since it was dark, what harm could come of driving a golf ball out into the water. I went and got my driver, and tee'd up a ball I had rolling around in my bag. When I lined, up, I could hardly see the damn thing! I pressed on and whacked the thing. Even though I could hardly see the ball in the first place, The club made that beautifully hollow *THIANK* sound that a titanium faced club will make when you catch the ball just right. I kinda stood there in disbelief for a few seconds (couldn't believe that I even contacted the damn ball!) then started to focus on listening for the ball to splash down. After what seemed like an eternity, I heard a solid [soundofgolfballstrikingwoodathighvelocity]*THUNK!*[/soundofgolfballstrikingwoodathighvelocity] and then what sounded to be a very pissed of duck!

I guess that I really caught hold of the ball, and hit it ACROSS the inlet. I guess it was about 280-300 yards (way above my normal 220-240 drive length ) across the inlet to the docks on the other side.

It figures that what will probably be the best drive of my life will have taken place not on the course, but across the inlet and on to someones dock (God forbid that it was a boat and not a dock I hit!!!)
