I'm informing HondaGirl that you take a screenshot of the entire desktop by hitting the "Print Screen" key (it's next to Scroll Lock, above Insert, Home and friends). You can also take a screenshot of a single window by selecting it, and hitting Alt-Print Screen.

The screenshot goes into your clipboard, and you can then paste it into PaintBrush or Photoshop or whatever (even MS Word etc, if you so desire).

I'm saying of course the whole procedure is much simpler on a Mac
