And before I signed up in the back of mind I thought to myself, "after 9 years, aren't you sick of the military's ?" But I also thought, just tough it out so you can build a second retirement.

It's actually been awhile since I've had one. And by 'awhile' I guess I mean a few weeks. Anyway, the headache's gone now and I didn't need to take any meds.

A reply from my chief regarding my reserve unit that isn't

ET2,

I just spoke with PN1 Orezsco at the NOSC about your drill schedule
conflict. The only thing we can come up with, if you cannot attend normal
drill, is transfer to the IRR or an authorized Leave of Absence from the
drilling reserves until you are in a position to attend normal drills.
There is no way we can train you in our unit mission without having you
available for drills. I'm sure you have already heard it, but your employer
is required by state and federal law to allow you time off, unpaid, for
reserve duty. You may, however, not be willing to risk conflicts at your
new employer by demanding they comply...your choice. But, unfortunately, you
cannot have both at this time with our particular reserve unit.

Please contact PN1 Orezsco at 360-xxx-xxxx to discuss your options.

Any other questions, I am your Chief at the present time and you can call me
at 360-xxx-xxxx.

Thanks, ETC Zude
