Jack, I've driven to NYC a jillion times. It's not so bad. Taxicabs rule the roads, though, so you have to just stay out of their way. Rush hour traffic can be bad, so it's best to arrive mid morning or early afternoon.
Parking is very expensive, Jack. I think some of the Metro NYC crowd were going to give us some ideas for that, but I'm not sure. I will probably valet my car at our hotel since I'm blowing a huge wad for the trip anyway.

You can train up (AMTRAK from either Penn Station or Grand Central -- the former I think), or you can rent some wheels and drive up. It's a little over three hours by car from Brooklyn to my area. I have some info on the trains, which I'll post later.

This is what I know at this point....Driving up to NY in the riced out mini-van with the family sometime early Thursday. Hopefully going to Dinner w/ Chaz + whoever....then George's concert...some heckling...
