Yeah, I understand the brown hills but at least things will still grow with water in pots. That's what I miss, going outside and watering or trimming plants and having year round roses.

Yeah I do as well, first grew them in WA & they do tend to like a damp soil butt I decided to try here and this one is doing great for several years now, it comes back each Spring

I also noted yesterday as we were doing a final pruning on the Grapevines ( we have a long wall of them ) my pot that has Salvia is also still blooming eventually we will get frost though & they won't last in that

My house in Trabuco Canyon/Lake Forest doesn't get frost. It's not gotten that cold since I bought it in Feb. 2008. I think I have salvia here in Loveland. They are quite dead right now. Is that what these are? Everything is dead dead dead right now. I'm learning about true winter again, after not living where there was one since the winter of 2007 in Acton, CA. It froze there but only down to the 20's and not like here where it's below zero sometimes.

I've been to Maryland and all over the east for S2000 meets in the Spring, starting with Maryland in 2004. SO pretty! Hershey Gardens, PA was gorgeous, especially, on May 4, 2014.
