No VTEC in 2 days... and counting. DON'T TRY THIS!

It's a goofy experiment and I'm letting you all know how it progresses so you don't have to go through the same agony.
A friend asked about the cars fuel economy and it got around to the fact that I get about 20 MPG over tracking for 5 consecutive weeks. I got 10 MPG for one day at Laguna Seca.
I started wondering how my driving style (toward the spirited side and often in VTEC) impacted fuel economy.
I started Sunday afternoon after a fill up. Here are the rules:
- Short shifting according to the ridiculous guidelines in the manual.
- Never over 5k rpms
- Stick to the speed limit more or less and never exceed 75mph
- have no fun whatsoever.
So far the experiment has only yielded frustration. I expect it to go on until next Monday or Tues when i will need another fillup.
I'll keep you posted.
