Default Nerd Alert!

So I have joined a book club here and wanted to involve my fellow corner folk who are into reading...

If you would like, I would appreciate if you could let me know about books you've read, are currently reading or would like to read in this thread.

I will tell you about the books we are reading, comments, etc. and books we will be reading in the future and generally...blah blah blahblah

(I knew I lost you after the 3rd line!

I just finished reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Husseini
Has anyone read this yet?

and...an interesting tidbit for my fellow Canadian hottie --> Cher I thought there was a book award for you...the new book I just picked up, "a complicated kindness" by Miriam Toews has an award seal on it and I read "CG" it's GG (Governor General...doh!) I'm such a tool! But I knew you'd get a kick out of that

Okay Mom, I know you read....whatcha got for me??

or if in doubt, I give you all permission to whore -- moderately, you're welcome

:accordingly:

That's awesome!

I just finished reading Give Me My Father's Body: The Life of Minik, the NY Eskimo. (I think I got the title right! ) That was the one I just started to read when Jenny and I were down visting. A sad (true) story, but definitely worth the read.
I didn't even know there was debate about who reached the North Pole first. I books that challenge what I think I know and books that give voice to stories that have been silenced.

Oh and let me know how that book by Miriam Toews is Les - I forget the name of that other one (I think we both read it?) and I liked it.
