I think the S is the best car i've ever had. Considering ALL things maybe the best car I ever WILL have. But the Lotus?... If I was ever going to have one it's now.
It's a bitch to get in and out of, it has rattles and I'm anticipating higher maint costs. But it's a hand build race car. It's sweet.

LOL! Well *that* Starlight is still there. That's the one withthe Sport AND touring? I left off the Sport pack. Some of the purists will object to the decision but frankly the Sport pack is too extreme for me.
The car *without* the SP is more extreme... the SP stiffens up the car so much it rattled by fillings out just driving around Los Gatos.
I didn't need the Touring but it's desirable for the sound and the electric windows are lighter than hand crank for the purists. :-)
Different in my perspective?... Hmmm. Well it's not night and day. There are things in common. This car is high revving (8500 red) and handles well. Slightly better handling in normal driving with no power steering but I haven't found the limit on cornering yet though I pushed it pretty hard inthe test drives. I'm anticipating a wet-your-pants cornering ability. I think there's a parking lot in my near future.
Interior is pleasing only to a Spartan. Your feet are on the bare chassis, and your passenger is 3 inches fromyou. Getting in and out is fine if your a Walenda. The interior of the Elise is to the interior of the S2000, what the interior of the S2000 is to the SLK.
No luggage space. I reckon you could fit 12 basketballs in the trunk if they were all fully deflated.
The thing it has common the most with the S2000 is that it makes me smile all the time.
