Default My Expeince learning how to drive manual/my car story

Ah, it all started a couple months ago, after I got my 240sx at a local auto auction, for 450 bucks. The first night we had it, I gutted everything cleaning it, and then washing it. God knows why I bothered washing it, one fender is about to fall off(totaled), the other is fixable, but still fvcked up, at least 5 small dents, one large dent in passanger door(12x12), and scrapes all over the car filling with surface rust. I really need to take pictures of my car, but no camera/scanner.

Anyway, after everything was put back in, my dad took me out. On my third try I finally got it, tires spinning in their full glory(My neighbors love me ), and proceeded to drive around the block at 5.5k rpm. Fast forward to tommorow, my dad wants to go look at a boat at an auction, so he ask me to take him, when we arive he tells me to park uphil, of considerable steepness(is that a word?). After returning and getting in the car I ask, "Umm....yo, whats I gots ta' be doin' ta' gets outs uf herrre", my dad replys, "Its alright dawg, just let of the brake, give it some gas and release the clutch. Luckily there were no cars downhill from me. On my 7th try, at redline, I spin the wheels all the way through first, and part of second.(My block is flat btw, but the town is very hilly)

Fast forward a couple weeks, I can now drive great on flat parts of town, with smooth shifts, but I cannot downshift. Long story short, one pissed off tranny, my dad's head hurting from all the jolting around, I can downshift. My dad really tries to instill in me using the tranny to slow you down instead of brakes, anyway, I understand the logic but thats ok.

And after a couple near rolling-back-while-at-stoplight-on-hill-incidents, I can do it all

Anyway, I was bored

Btw, my dad has a massive air compressor now, along with body pullers and hammers, and we are about to start all the body work, well, when it gets warmer.
