Thanks, Alex. This is definitely a case of form follows function. My concern was reducing unsprung weight as well as addressing some rubbing issues with the 16" rims that the previous owner had on the car for daily driving. This new setup puts the wheel mass back in line with what the 14" stock setup would weigh for most Miatas...and I really DO like these wheels. The tires were one of my top choices and I actually decided on them because I got them for about $60/each delivered.

For the most part they will be daily driver duties and will also be track wheels/tires until I am comfortable enough with the Miata's handling at the limits to run the 14" BBS wheels w/ R compounds that I have in the storage closet.

Thx! I'm pretty happy with them so far. You can FEEL the weight difference (probably about 10lbs less per corner). As for the tires...still need to scrub off some of the release agent and other residue, but they already seem to be gripping decently...
