Good news (hooray) and bad news (ouch).
We have five terrariums and many frogs. Sunday afternoon, I was cleaning the frogs' water, just finishing up the biggest terrarium, which has about 25 frogs and toads, mostly tree frogs. A big, beautiful tree frog, one of my favorites, Abubakar (Mom has been personally introduced to Abubakar), escaped. I wasn't quick enough and he was gone. Usually, when a frog escapes, it turns up in a day or two later on a door or wall. Early this morning, as I was getting ready to go to the gym, there's Abubakar, hopping down the hallway floor like he knew exactly where he was going. I chased him into a bedroom, grabbed him, and put him back in his terrarium. However, just as I grabbed him, I hit my head on the corner of a dresser, splitting open the top of my forehead. Blood everywhere -- a trail of blood from the dresser to the terrarium, which I had to clean up. (This is an outcome I can live with.) As I was leaving, I told Mrs. Raptor. She was in bed with the dogs and wasn't prepared to deal with my bullshit at that hour, 4:30. She said "That's nice, Abubakar is back, safe, in his house, and you have a story to tell."

However, one of his terrarium associates, Obasanjo, is a Senegalese poison dart frog. Had he been the escapee, I might not have been able to give you such a response to your question. The main thing here is that Abubakar, Obasanjo, et all are reunited and happy.

We at the National Oil Ministry have overcharged oil companies $52 million and we want to put in your account. You get to keep 40% of it. When I first got one of these in the mail years ago, I took it seriously and called the FBI. The FBI agent laughed and said "Sounds like a good deal. Why didn't you do it?"
