Default Cracked windscreen (Windshield for you guys !!)

My car is in the garage having a new windscreen fitted ..... US$800+

Got a stone chip in it a couple of weeks ago and a crack developed, right across from the drivers side pillar about 18" across the screen .......

I was pushing the car a little a couple of nights ago and took a 90 degree left hander
at a significant rate of knots (even after standing on the brakes first !!) and as I went
round I actually noticed the crack in the screen increase by about 1 1/2 inches !!!!!!

I decided at that point that maybe I should bite the bullet and take it in to the shop ....

Yeah, bummer James... Sometimes you get away with those chips and they don't spread. Too bad. Is this covered by your insurance, James?

Hey, I got my wife's Volvo back today. The mechanical damage wasn't as bad as we'd thought. Ever since General Motors took over Volvo, parts prices have dropped dramatically. E.g., the wheel replacement was supposed to be an unreasonable $450, but came in at $250!

Next, I get the bodywork assessed. I'm prepared for a shock.

It was quite a shock to actually see it happen like that , and I thought the chasis on the S was supposed to be stiff

Stiff, but not enough to prevent that, James.
