Lesley.....I have had so many people dying and sick lately...Im just happy that Im healthy and so is my immediate family and friends
Ive been thinking about this topic alot lately....I had a best friend for years until last year around this time.....we were practically twin minds.....she felt, from hundreds of miles away if I was upset, and vice versa.....I messed up the friendship badly last September....and we havent spoken since.....she has had much tragedy since....her boyfriend of 2.5 years died last November....at 21 years old.
About 4 months ago, my friend Nicole saw her and they spoke. she wouldnt dare ask about me...but she did get teary eyed when Nicole asked how she was doing....she said "I lost my 2 soulmates this year.....but Im coping" That broke my heart, especially since I think about her everyday. I finally was able to get her cell phone number yesterday....she lives in Boston now, and I am going to call her.
So, basically, all Im saying here is...Life is too short, and you have to take it in ure own hands and make it work for you.

Good for you Sophia....life to too short not to call her.
Let us know how it goes babe
You're a strong person to do this, and she obviously needs you at this time.

Hey Les....yes, life is good. I know for a fact that I never would have imagined my life to be where it is now...work, personal life, or family......even 6 months ago I could not have guessed. It is funny how little things mean so much with how your life goes. Even stuff that really seems useless when you think about it.
I did a mental 'connect the dots' in my head last night and figured out that how I got here had a lot to do with a question I asked someone 9 years ago. Back in 1994 I was washing cars at the Acura dealer and a customer came in with a silver 1992 Acura NSX. I was looking at the car from about 20 yards away (it always came in TRASHED, and in need of major cleaning) and I decided to go talk to the owner while the service writer wrote him up. Anyway, he had to get back to work, and the work on the car was going to take longer than expected, so I summoned up the guts (at 18 years of age) to say, 'I noticed your car was pretty dirty. If you want, since we have no loaner cars available, you can take my car and I will clean yours and bring it to you after work,' and waited nervously for an answer. To my surprise, he said, 'Really? Sure...why not. Thanks,' and I gave him my car keys.
A few weeks later I called the customer at home. I re-introduced myself and offered to pick up his car, and keep it waxed and detailed at no cost to him whenever it needed it since I understood he had no real time to do it himself. He said he admired that I had the guts to call and ask the owner of an exotic car if I could pick up his car just to clean it, and we arranged another pick-up. From there I quickly became close to the family and they have since adopted me into their family, and even introduce me as their 'oldest son' (eventhough they have 3 others, and a daughter). For several years I drove that 1992 NSX as my own (he has 15 CARS & TRUCKS TOTAL!!) and even paid for maintenance myself.
What this lead to was that when I graduated from college last year they helped me get a job before I had even graduated from school. At this job I was paid very well, and since I already had my 1991 NSX I was able to buy my other dream car, a 1999 BMW M3.
This M3 had several crazy problems to it which eventually made me so upset that I had to take a loss on the car and decided to buy something reliable again, like another Honda. Hence I bought my new S2000.
From this S2000 I started participating on these boards more, and from these boards I met Lesley, the light of my life. She has made me happier than I could ever have imagined, and I am thankful for that.
So, you see, if you follow the line of events, my current happiness leads back to the initial question of asking someone to wash their car and offer them mine. The question alone seems meaningless, but when you follow it to the NSX, to the family that owned the NSX, to the family helping me get a job, the job paid for the M3, the M3 had problems and led to the S2000, and the S2000 led to my Lesley. Crazy how life works, eh?
Proof that little things and choices mean more than you could imagine.

That's so true, it is great to be alive, although life does come with lots of responsibility and stuff, as long as you have your health, you really have nothing to worry about... I just want to have the feeling that if I die tomorrow, I wouldn't have any regrets in life... Life is a very short ride, enjoy it while it lasts cuz ya never know when ya gonna go....
