We have the same season tickets every year: Grandstand 29, top row, on Shoreline, across from the pits. Everything seems to be up in the air right now. CART is in bankruptcy and the IRL is bidding on its assets, as is OWRS, which wants to be CART's successor. Rumor has it that the IRL wants to race at Long Beach. LBGP says they'll have a race weekend, even if they have to race Grand-Am Rolex prototypes. I don't know how this is going to shake out. California Speedway still owes me for my season tickets to the CART race that was postponed by the Speedway in November because of the fires, then cancelled by CART.

There's a really informative thread about the CART bankruptcy court proceedings in the Sports and Online Games Forum.

Cart had 2.6-liter single-turbo V8s, right? Or was that IRL?

I think IRL had all-motor 4.5-liter V8?

The judge ruled in OWRL's favor over IRL yesterday, even though IRL's bid for CART assets was almost $10 million higher, to avoid the $10-30 million in lawsuits anticipated when IRL cancelled races. OWRL announced it will field 18 cars and begin a 14-race season in April at Long Beach, running CART formula single turbo 2.65 liter V8s. It hopes to add two international races, including possibly Korea.
