Maybe if we just take it out at the hop joint ? Hip joint's are notoriously bad when you get old, and the hip isn't going to do any good without the rest of the leg, so we might as well do some pre-emptive surgery here ....

How about we take both arms off at the shoulder, both legs at the hips, and take his head off at the neck just in case he ends up biting himself or someone else ..... I don't think he should be able to do much harm then should he ?
