I decided on the new Pioneer Premier model DEH - P8MP

It has a Organic EL display - means cute pictures to choose from and a cool big toggle button. And, next month Sound Gate is coming out with a direct wired interface to the left controls!

Speakers are Focal 165KP

Good point! the promo states that it is readable in bright sunlight, I'll check it.
