Probably either working for the Bedford County Sheriff's office, or with any number of charitable organizations.
I no longer need him since UT's back in his office

Unkie, do you have any experience with double kick pedals and electronic bass drum triggers?

I'll add my drumming sense and say DW has amazing pedals and I personally would only recommend Roland Electronics.

Cracker said what I proabably would; DW is about the best double-kick out there, chain or band link.

As far as electronics, Roland is the best both in sound and build, but now having had some seat time with Alesis, I can endorse them as a solid value.

In terms of double-kick technique, you'll want to start moving your rudiments down to your feet.

My POS is an Alesis... Granted it's basically the cheapest possible kit you can have, which is why the bass pedal sucks so hard.

Reading reviews of musical gear is horrible, pretty much every review is "this is the best <> I've ever used" or "this is total crap and a complete waste of money", but I rarely get the sense that most of the reviewers have used more than 1 or 2 different options.

Was looking at a Yamaha double pedal w/ a Roland KD-8 trigger... seems reasonably good without being a huge suck on the wallet. Will check out DW pedals.

Thanks dudes

Oddly enough, my friend with the Alesis:
1. swapped out the stock pedal right away
2. Uses it as his electronic set, not as a replacement to acoustic set.

I want a Roland V-drum set in the worst fuggin way, just to have a set in my townhouse that I can rock the hell out on, but in now way is it as fun as playing an acoustic set. Not even close.

Make sure the kick drum triggers down close to the floor and the trigger normally comes with a reverse bend mallet to put into the pedal. I have never had good luck with kick drum triggers that sit up vertical like a real bass drum.

I have not tried Alesis before but I totally trust 8D

Yamaha makes legit stuff. I personally would only buy DW or Pearl pedals.

Yeah, I was jizzing over the TD20 until I saw the $7000 price tag.

What do you mean by triggering close to the floor? Seems the point is to have a vertical trigger so the pedal action is identical to a normal bass drum.

Comparably priced from Alesis:

Well looks like they don't even offer what I was thinkin of now. I personally trust anything Roland makes but what I was thinking of was this older model the KD-7

If you go nuts get one of the V-drum triggers like KD-85 and get real drum type kick response.

The KD85 looks nice but it's $450 or so... lot of coin for low level ****** around.
