Airbag Switch
#25
I've never been an airbag fan...which is one of the reasons I was more than happy to pull the stock steering wheel from my car.
While I've never subscribed to the idea of not being able to put kids in the passenger seat (assuming the seat's far enough back to avoid the deployed bag) I think that the switch was absolutely the right move.

I think so too, Brant. After shelling out 5 large to fix my wife's Volvo after a small, 10MPH impact, I got a little fed up with airbags and self-tensioning seat belts.
But, I'd still choose to have the bags for adults. Kids are another matter entirely. The risk/reward equation is quite different there, which is why the NHTSA allows this exception for transporting kids or for pregnant/short folks.
What's really bizarre is that the Miata comes with an on/off switch! It really should've been a no-brainer to get one installed in Neb, but noooooo. Anyway, I'm happy.
