Zoe is right in that normally you're allowed to lend your car to people. In fact, I know of one person who let a friend drive their car at a racetrack, the guy smashed into the tire wall, and really kind of ****ed up the car. The insurance company paid, no questions asked.
I would just call Geico and act like a new person shopping for insurance to find out what their normal policy is.
Led, "Hi, I'm shopping for insurance and would just like to find out what your normal policy is in this situation. If I gave someone permission to drive my car and it got hit while it was parked in a parking lot, is that covered by your standard policy?"
The usual requirement is that the person had your permission to drive. I also think the fact that it wasn't a moving violation, and it wasn't your dad's fault - I mean he wasn't even there, right?, is also in your favor.
The topic of your dad driving your car (and please stop calling it by that horrible stk name), is another one entirely. Sounds like you need to get back there and nab the keys.
Good luck, I know that feeling of your beautiful car being defiled.

Kathy is right, since the car was parked it's really a moot point as to who parked it there, so long as that person did so legally (since he has a set of your keys, it's likely a situation of implied consent). In a moving situation, Geico and your dad's insurance co probably would have duked it out over who should pay. I doubt you'd get dropped, in either situation, unless you are making habitual claims or getting a lot of tickets.
Oh, dig up your policy, the topic of other drivers is covered somewhere in the policy.

My insurance covers me driving any car and anyone driving my car. My friend hit a deer with my last car and my comprehensive covered it. If your insurance doesn't cover other drivers, then maybe your dad's insurance will cover him driving in any vehicle. Your insurance company may not even have to be involved or notified.

Sorry...couldn't help myself there Red, but thanks for the sympathy. That's exactly what I will do as far as my insurance is concerned...and if my conversation is any indicator to my dad when I was on the phone with him I think he knows that the car is being confiscated. IMMEDIATELY. I am going to be in CT by late AM on Wednesday....

Ooo. Sorry to hear that Jim. I'm agreeing with everyone above who says you should be covered. I'm particularly impressed with Kathy's devious way of finding out.
Oh so devious that Kathy.
Keep us informed Jim.
