still no containment on that particular fire either

We're still here!!!! But the one fire near my folks' place is only 5% contained, and there's been zero containment on the fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

I confess I’ve been out of the loop regarding fires because it’s been SO wet here. No fires nearby but the have been landslides.

The Moc fire named for the town it started in Moccasin which sits at the bottom of the Priest Grade which is the main way in & out of Groveland is now 40% contained and my evacuation has been lifted for PML

Just got word that a childhood friend had to evacuate at 2:00 am Wed.(8/19) and they let them go home latter that morning. Their house was gone, burnt to the ground all in less than 8 hours. This was in the hills just north of Vacaville,CA His insurance company dropped them at the first of the month and he couldn't find another company in time. God I HATE insurance company's. All this with retirement coming up, well maybe not now.

Rod
p.s. I don't know if this is allowed but if you can help please do. Even $5, $10 or $20 can add up pretty fast.

Thank You Gina, I know Curt and Aree really appreciate all donations.

They got some clothes from the Red Cross a couple of days ago. He got pretty dirty going through some of the rubble and when he got to town he was just going to wash his clothes at a laundromat. But then he realized he only had what was on his back. He didn't think they wanted a 65 year old sitting around naked waiting while his clothes were being washed so he went to the Red Cross. At least he still has a little bit of humor left, I don't know if I would.
