Well I am $2,000 below KBB already. I dont understand, is the value of these cars deteriorating? I am $6,600 below what this car cost new, it has 2500 miles, and I keep hearing that my price is too high. I owe $29,800, plus I have to pay sales tax when I sell it because it is a lease, so already I am at $3k+ out of pocket just to sell the car. Based on the research I did, and what similar cars are selling for I figured my price was fair.

Not flaming your price at all, just things I'd thought you should know since the price thing seems to be getting at you. Used 06 seems be going for 26k-27k, possibly 28k including sales tax and registration. New 06 can be had at 30k OTD including sales tax/ registration/ fees at dealers at this time. I know because I got mine for that much. Thats probably the reason why its hard right now to get your price, but I hope you get a buyer soon since I know you've been trying to sell it for some time now. Good luck.

I'm not sure why but i've noticed the prices on this board seem to be under the market. S2000s sell for more here locally both through dealers and privately than they do on this board. Maybe because there are so many and the competition makes people lower price?

Yeah, I can have a new 06 for 30K.

Also doesn't help him asking 28K, when there is another exact color/exact year car with 7K miles asking 26K in CA on this board, right now.

Didn't mean any flame at all, but for 28K used, I would rather pay the 2K, and get a car with 6-7 miles on it.

You shouldn't have to pay sales tax on the car, the person buying it from you does.

No because I am currently leasing the car I would have to pay sales tax, then the buyer would have to pay sales tax. Essentially, when I sell it I will have to buy it from Honda, then sell it. A portion of the lease payment is for sales tax, you still pay tax, just not in a lump sum like when you buy a car. As such, if I sell the car before my lease term ends, I have to pay the remaining sales tax.

Unfortunately any car drops in value as soon as it goes from "new" to "used." A new S2000 can easily be had for invoice and the 06 models remaining on dealer lots go for as low as 27-28k from what I have heard.

You simply cannot expect anything close to what your car cost new, it is unreasonable during this time of year. People would rather have the better financing and comfort of buying a car nobody else has had.

I recommend holding out until the Spring when the 06 models have disappeared off dealer lots and people are in the market. Dealers won't be selling for below invoice and there will be more demand.
