GA: 2001 NFR, 9,085 miles *STOCK*
Hello fellow S2Ki members. Back in the beginning of 2013 I began looking for an S2000. My goal was to find a clean AP2 with low miles that I could purchase, enjoy tinkering with, and tastefully modifying in my down time. I have a 2003 RSX Type-S that I have been building over the years and I love having something to work on in my spare time and order little things for here and there.
Well I searched for a few months and finally in May of 2013 I found this beautiful 2001 NFR with 6400 miles from a a Ford dealership in Clearwater Florida. I bought the car sight unseen, I would usually NEVER do this. But being such low mileage and dealing with a very honest, and helpful dealer I took the plunge, pulled the trigger and snapped it up before someone else could. A few days later a covered trailer with my brand new (to me) S2000 backed into my driveway and unloaded the most pristine S2000 I had ever seen. It looked like it did back in 2000-2001 when it was sitting in the showroom.
So you might be wondering why I am selling this car after all that has been said. Well, the reason why is because I absolutely can not bring myself to "modify" our touch this car in anyway to alter it from stock. This is a collectors car, it isn't meant to be "tinkered with" I bought the car because it was an amazing deal that I could not pass up, and was the lowest mileage I had seen on just about any S2K. Well today I just purchased a 2006 Rio Yellow with 42k miles on it. It's what I originally wanted. An AP2, with "low" miles that I would get a long life out of that I could mess with a little without feeling guilty about making it mine. My 2001 NFR, I believe, still has the original tires from the factory on it still, everything is completely stock on the car and the paint doesn't have a single swirl in it. The seats have no creases or spots that have worn, the soft top is in absolute perfect condition. The engine bay is clean enough to eat off of (though, that would make it dirty haha) Everything about this car is truly how it looked when it was 9,085 miles younger. I have written documentation of the what I have done to it so far. But simply, all I have done is change the oil with Royal Purple, and replaced the oil filter with an OEM Honda filter. THIS AP1 DOES NOT BURN OIL. I check it every time I drive it, it's always right where I left it. I know a lot of early S2K's burn a little oil, but I have not noticed it with mine at least. It sleeps in my garage with the OEM S2000 car cover over it, as it waits for a new owner who will love it for what it is. I only hope it gets a new home with someone who will take good care of it and treat it right.
