FS: 2003 NFR S2K in Florida!
Due to financial constraints, I'm selling my S2K. I love this car, and I hate to sell, but the bills are killing me and I have to let it go.
Year: 2003
Make/Model/Color: Honda S2000 New Formula Red
VIN: JHMAP11473T005026
Mileage: 15,700
Location: Car is located in Gainesville, FL
Price: $24,000
Contact: Nate, PM me for email and phone
Description: Car is in PERFECT condition. Never tracked or raced. Adult driven and religously cared for. It is completely stock, but I have added the Honda OEM lip, side strakes and 04' rear wing. Clean inside and out. You will not be disappointed. No surprises. No paint or body work. No dents, dings, etc. Interior is perfect. Everything works perfectly.
Maintenance: I put Mobil 1 synthetic oil in the car at 10K miles. I changed the tranny fluid (Honda MTF) and rear diff fluid (LE607) at 6K miles and tranny fluid again at 14K miles. Original S02's up front still good. I have S03's on the rear, and they still look good too. Not sure how much tread is left, but there is still quite a bit that you won't need tires anytime soon.
More pictures can be seen in my photo gallery at our local car club. Go here to see more photos.
If you have any questions or want to see it, let me know.
No free joy rides. Serious buyers only. MUST SELL ASAP.

Thanks man. Yep, it's hard to let go. I love this S2K and have had many fun trips in it. I'm trying to figure out a way to work around selling it, but I'm not sure if it will work out as I hope. So unfortunately, I will sell it and give someone else the opportunity to own a kick-ass car.

Yeah, I've been trying desperately to find ways to cut bills and other costs, but it's not enough. I'm at the point where if any emergencies come up, I'm screwed, or if I want to buy new clothes or other things I may need throughout the year, I'm also screwed. I have my budget all written out, and I'm so close to breaking even each month that I'm not willing to live like that because of this car, no matter how much I love it. I'd like to find another job that pays more, but I haven't found anything, and I've even been looking outside of the area. I would need at least a $5K/year increase to make it work. Sad thing is, I don't make that much money, and many places pay less than I currently make! It's ridiculous!
And finding something else I can live with has been hard. Of course, I want to stay with Honda/Acura, and I want something new(er) that will have a warranty and not be expensive to maintain. But I'm stuck with what is available and affordable and livable. Nothing seems to compare to the S2K.
I've been looking into the RSX, RSX Type S, Scion tC, Honda Civic EX, Si, Sentra SE-R Spec V, and used Acura Integra GSR's. I'd go with the Spec V because I could get one new for $15K, but after a test drive, I was disappointed with the notchy shifting and how hard it is to get into 5th and 6th. Other than that, the car is nice, and the price is great for a new car. I like the new Scion tC, but I can't find one that is manual! The Civic EX is a nice car, but I just can't bring myself to buy one for the price (it won't save me a whole lot compared to my payments now). Same thing with the RSX And RSX S. Both are nice cars (Type S would be my choice - I don't like not having any VTEC in the base model). But no matter if I buy or lease, I'm only saving $40-70 per month...that's not a big enough savings for me to let go of the S2K.
I found a GSR that I like, but it's through a private owner, and I need to sell my car to make it possible. Most of the dealers are trying to kill me with trade in, so I need to sell it on my own and hope to at least break even with what I owe.
SOMEONE, PLEASE BUY MY S2K!

well you know my take from the get go is to just get a beater that you could pay cash or make monthly payments for low. This way when you get out of your hole, you can get back into something you want w/out having to get hit on depreciation. A fairly cheap gsr civic would cost about 4-6k, but you don't have warranty. The thing is though, if you can get the car inspected and have most of the preventative maintance done, you'll be ok as Hondas seem to be fairly reliable cars. In my case, my Integra over the 10years I had it everything was routine maintance pluse timing belt, water pump, and cvs. Obviously mileage was getting up there so those things were just more preventiive as spending a little now rather than having things blow up in my face later. I was also turbo for 5 years and 50k of the miles.
That's my take, settle all your debt then put some away for a rainy day before you get back into a s2k or w/e else that interests you. Hey I wouldn't have been able to keep my car for 9mts w/out a job if I didn't have money saved up. I know easier said than done, but you just need to find a buyer for your car now. At least we live in FL where convert season is almost year round.
You can always call or email so we don't have long discussions on the board :-p but at least you get a free bump
