Thumbs down CLOSED: 2004 S2000, 36k miles, Dallas

Name: Matthew Hine
Location: Richardson, TX
Means of contact: 214-926-2885

Year: 2004
Make: Honda
Model: S2000
Color: Silverstone
Mileage: 36,000

Price: $15,000 fixed

Description:
This is a factory-original S2000 in excellent condition, purchased new by me. I'm moving on to a Cayman and I expected to sell the S2000 to a friend in the area, who decided against it at the last minute. I am getting my new car by the end of December, so I must sell by Dec. 31. If I find no buyer, I will be trading it in to the dealership. If somebody wants to buy it, I will handle it through Park Place Porsche, who will handle all the paperwork -- essentially you will be buying it from them.

I'm a bit of an audiophile, and the only modification that has been made is a complete professionally-installed replacement of the audio system. Head-unit is Alpine, with iPod connection run to the glovebox between the seats. Amplification is handled by a 74x4 Phoenix Gold "Tantrum" amp, driving Boston Rally component speakers and an 8" elemental designs subwoofer, mounted in a removable custom-fit enclosure in the trunk (also with a 1F capacitor). Also features a Modifry interface that keeps the controls to the left of the steering wheel perfectly functional. This was originally over $2000 in audio gear and it sounds great. I still have the factory head-unit, if the buyer is interested in having it.

I've performed most maintenance myself, and it's never seen a Honda dealership service bay. It's run synthetic oil for most of its lifetime.

It has always lived in Dallas, garaged at home. It hasn't been in any accidents, and there are only a couple of very small dings in the metal, and a bit of normal rock chipping in the front and scuffing at the bottom of the front bumper. I've always used high-quality synthetic wax and the clearcoat is in excellent shape. There are a couple of rock impacts in the windshield unfortunately, although fairly small. The top is in great shape, with no tears.

Tires are Direzza Star-specs that went on the car <5000 miles ago, lots of tread left. Battery has been replaced with a high-quality Optima.

I'll also throw in the three oil filters I still have for it.

All records, receipts, and manuals are available.

See post below for new photos.

By the way, if it wasn't clear from the original post, this is a single-owner car. I ordered it new (refused to take one off the lot), broke it in gently, and have loved it since.

I'm moving to Dallas in about 1-2 months, shame you are in a rush to sell it, this would have been perfect. Good luck with your sale, the car looks like it's been extremely well looked after
