2002 AP1 Berlina Black 65k Miles *SOCAL*
Hello everyone. I’ve decided to test the waters on selling my car. One major reason, among others, is that I am transferring to a new university at the end of the year and I’m more than likely going to be living on campus – so I’m either going to downgrade substantially with a vehicle or buy a mountain bike lol. Anyways, I’ve owned the car for 3.5 years; I’m the second owner of the car (bought it used with 12k miles on it. Here’s the stats on it.
General
- 2002 Berlina Black AP1
- 65xxx miles on the clock
- AP2 Tail lights, rear bumper, and front bumper all professionally installed by an s2ki member who owns a body shop and is a close personal friend of mine. No corners cut here.
- Adult owned.
Mechanically
- Engine runs/idles perfectly.
- Transmission is still smooth as butter, no grinds, etc.
- Oil changed regularly and I have most records somewhere.
- Car *was* modded at one point with test-pipe, cat-back exhaust, and an intake. That is all that was done aside from the suspension.
- The car currently has KGMM race springs on it for what I consider a perfect drop.
- Brakes were just done yesterday (10-15-09) with OEM Honda Brake pads
- Car handles amazing; last alignment was done by West End.
Exterior
(Negative)
- Exterior I would rate fair.
- The car does have dings, and one of them is kinda bad but nothing a ding remover couldn’t handle.
- I’m not gonna lie, the car could certainly use a decent detail but I just haven’t had time.
- Front bumper and hood do have some rock chips, front bumper could use a re-spray.
- The rag top has been victim of the infamous side tears (very common on s2k’s after awhile), I did patch them, but it’s obvious at close glances.
- Front bumper is missing grill.
(Positive)
- The car does have AP2 Front bumper, AP2 Rear Bumper, and AP2 Tail lights all professionally installed by an S2ki member here on the boards.
Interior
- I would rate the interior a strong 8/10 especially for being a 02.
- No stains, seats in overall good condition.
- There is a tear in center console, small tear on the right side. AP1 center consoles go for pretty cheap on the boards here so it would certainly be a cheap fix if it really bothered someone.
Misc
- I’m not gonna lie about the cars history, it was involved in 2 accidents, both very minor and both taken to an s2ki members body shop for the best fix in town.
Accident 1 – Happened over 2 years ago, I was passing in front of a high school, came to a 4 way stop sign and a high school student was backing a truck up out of the parking spot that bordered the street and didn’t see me stopped, it wasn’t going more than 2-3 miles but did end up hitting my driver’s side door putting a dent in the door. The door was completely replaced with an OEM s2k door. Extremely minor accident.
Accident 2 – Happened about a year ago in the Chiptole parking lot here in Norco. I was backing out of a parking spot and a truck was also backing out of a spot, I did not see him because he was in my direct blind spot (I had the top up). Both of us were going about 1 mile an hour and he clipped the rear corner of my bumper. Basically cracked my tail light and scratched up the rear bumper. The tail lights were replaced with brand new AP2 tails and the bumper was replaced with a brand new AP2 rear. Also done professionally at the body shop owned by an s2k member.
Final
- I still owe money on the car, title is NOT in hand. So we’ll have to arrange sale accordingly.
- Car is located in Norco/Corona area and I have no problem showing and giving test drives to SERIOUS interests please!
- Car could use some TLC in some areas but overall it runs perfectly and hasn’t been abused at all, I drive it like a grandma. I’m not gonna lie – it’s been taken to 9k probably 15 times or so and anyone who tells you they haven’t – either drives an AP2 or is lying.
Price
- I’m asking $12.5k and I’m pretty firm on the price. No rush in selling.
