I was able to take some pictures today and post them up on my Flickr site:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/arnelalvarez/...57604120580937/

All the pictures are high res so have a look. I would have taken more but it started to look like it was going to rain :-) If you guys want any other angle or picture taken please let me know.

BTW, when looking at the pics, there is a little tab "ALL SIZES" on the upper left of the picture. Clilck on that to get the full size...

Enjoy!!!

Hey man beautiful car. but i'd have to agree with imitenotbecrazy. Considering the mileage is as low as that, $20,000 is a lot for a 2000 s2000. it's the lowest model(plastic top, no clock, no wind deflector, etc). Kellybluebook says $15,000 in excellent condition which would be much more reasonable. Nowadays on Craigslist you can find 04 05 06 s2000s with under 20k mileage for $20,000. I know it's hard to face the fact that you babied the car with the mileage that is has but when a newer version of that same car comes out the value drops a lot. Not to be harsh on you or anything but just something to consider (:

Hey there Kevin. I appreciate your input. I'd have to agree that yes, this is the original 2000 model with a plastic top, no stock wind deflector, and no darn clock......but...

.. this is the original 9K revving engine, I have Ricks wind deflector (look at the pictures), and I have a watch on my wrist and clock on my cell phone :-) which usually does the job. If you want to take it even further with comparison, the newer model's have the leather console, in my case I have Rick's leather console which probably is better leather than what Honda provides... Heck they probably got the idea from him....We can compare all day long so it really boils down to the buyer and what he/she's looking for...

Some people like this model year due to the body style as well as the original high revving engine. I personally think it looks better than the newer models but then again, that is just my opinion.

I definitely took your comment into consideration and looked on my local craigslist and put minimum price 15K, max price 20K and closest comparables I could find (keeping in mind the mileage)

2002 S2000 - $20000 - 18300 miles
2002 S2000 - $19800 - 22,000 miles
2005 S2000 - $19,999 (obo) - 22,564 Miles
***This is for craigslist in the Bay Area.***

!!!ALL other cars have more than double to quadruple the mileage.!!! So I wouldn't even count those at all. Maybe I'm wrong here but I do not see any lists that confirm what you mentioned "04 05 06 s2000s with under 20k mileage for $20,000." Let's also take into consideration what condition they are in, any motor modifications, rims, etc... To the concerning buyer/enthusiast, a fully loaded stock car would be admirable... then again to each his own...

Now when I put these listing and factors into consideration, is $19K-20K really out of the question? Would you pay the same money for a newer model with alot more milage? Coming from an S2000 enthusiast who bought it when it first came out and given the pristine condition it's in, I personally think the price stands.

I may be talking out of my a$$ but I think we can all agree that no one (including dealers) are going to try to sell this type of car for KBB value nor will dealers take a trade for this car at KBB value. Believe me, I went to a dealership out of curiosity and was insulted with a trade-in value number. Let'sn not lie to each other....I'm fairly confident that you wouldn't let this car go for 15K if it was your own.....

I honestly do not think I'll be able to let it go for $15K. Let me just say that up front so I don't start getting offers for that price. If that's what the price will be, I'd be more than comfortable to keep it :-)

"2002 S2000 - $20000 - 18300 miles KBB = $18,400
2002 S2000 - $19800 - 22,000 miles KBB = $18,400
2005 S2000 - $19,999 (obo) - 22,564 Miles KBB = $23,965
***This is for craigslist in the Bay Area.***"

All three of those prices are within a 1000 away from kbb value. all three of those models are the glasstop model which really makes a difference since it's about $1500 to replace plastic to glass(cant just change the window, the whole soft top motor must be changed). Also, the third car you have up there is an 05 ap2 for asking 19,999 and has 22,564 which i dont understand why you put up there (: that sounds like a reasonable price.

all 04 - 06 ap2's with mileage under 30k and priced from 19,000 to 21,000

and when kbb'ed the price is as listed on craigslist!

and another thing to keep in mind, the 2000 s2000 is the defective year which had the recall for the transmission popping!

hard to find a 2000 or even 2001 ap1 s2000's selling for more than $17,000 unless you have a hardtop. 02 and up, now thats a different story.

Good research Kevin. I guess I stand corrected as only Two of the Seven links you mentioned showed "04 05 06 s2000s with under "20k" mileage for $20,000." And if you actually read the links...

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/604030623.html
and
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/603855074.html

THEY ARE FOR THE SAME CAR. Look at the vin... which makes it only one. Did it ever cross your mind why this car is priced so low from a dealer??? You think if the same car was black on black, or sliver and black, would it sell faster? who knows....

As far as why I put the listing for ...
2005 S2000 - $19,999 (obo) - 22,564 Miles KBB = $23,965

I'm not here to BS and just look for cars that would support my price tag. I wanted to list ALL comparables that fell into my criteria. Besides what do I have to hide. The point I tried to make there was that it all depends on the buyer and what your looking for. Sure you get a newer s2k but some people actually like the older body style, older motor, etc... Just like I like old school mustangs instead of the new ones...buyer preference..

Your other comment "the 2000 s2000 is the defective year which had the recall for the transmission popping!" is pretty harsh. Very low blow even coming from a person who owns a 2000 model which it states on your profile :-) It kind of implies that all 2000 models had this problem which is not the case.

I can testify that my car is not one of those models as I have never had that issue.

Anyway I'm not here to pick nit pick at everything. I just wanted to clarify to eliminate any doubts about the condition of my car that may come up from this discussion.

I have no doubts of your car whatsoever, it looks great, im sure it runs great.

and the 20k price and 20000 mileage was a rough estimate. none of those links are too exaggerated of what i stated.

but "it is what it is"

19,000k mileage shiny paint and all, $19,000 is a lot of money for the lowest model on the market. Neither does the 2000 model have anything that the 02 or 03 doesnt have.

kellysbluebook is the most widespread used website for buying used cars. and when the dealership offered you that insulting price, they probably based it off the "trade in value" on the kellybluebook.

Hey there Kevin. I totally agree with you that KBB is the most used site for finding the value of your car. Heck I've used it plenty of times to guestimate a value of a car. If you really want to know what the dealership offered me, I'll tell you......$9000 and that is NO EXAGGERATION. A Toyota dealership offered me that and I almost puked and walked away with a weird taste in my mouth.
If they got that from KBB, then Damn them to hell....lol

Anyway, I really do appreciate your comments on my car. Yeah it's probably priced up there but like you said "it is what it is". I really wouldn't be butt hurt if I can't sell it for atleast 19K because deep inside I kind of want to keep it. I'm just trying to think a bit more practical now days as I got a little one on the way :-)
