I am graduating with an ME degree in fall 2013 and I am pursuing an interesting opportunity with a network engineer from SoCal. I need my truck and not my S2000.
This is a very well prepared AP1. Clean title, smog legal, registered, and insured. After looking at many S2000s, I settled on this one in late 2011. The miles were higher than others, but there was no hidden collision damage like many other "clean title" and "clean car fax" cars out there. The compression numbers came back good as well. The woman who owned the car had also had the clutch replaced .
For the most part of the ownership I followed the forums, doing preventative things like replacing the valve retainers with AP2 retainers and welding the front control arm mounts. See this thread: My Ownership Thread. After my second track event, I had the roll bar installed by rockstar garage in Southern California. At this point, I stopped updating the thread as much and spent most of my time driving. The car evolved more and more with emphasis on centralizing mass and reducing weight. I followed my vehicle dynamics text while building this and ended up with the car you see below. Every instructor that has ridden or driven this car has complemented the set up.
Some details:
5 total track events
The control arm brackets have been welded.
The valve retainers are updated to AP2.

To everyone: zentrose did a great job maintaining and modding the car. I am the new owner now.
Mechanically, it needs:
I'll take the ECU through the idle learning procedure once the injectors are cleaned up or replaced.
Mechanically, it needs:
- New front wheel bearings to get rid of that horrible worrrr worrrr sound, and to keep the car safe.
- Fuel injectors need cleaning, or I'll put in new injectors.
- The roof rubbing against the bodywork is driving me nuts. I'll soon remove the roof and cover the opened area with a tough piece of black canvas to make my daily driving more enjoyable.
I'll take the ECU through the idle learning procedure once the injectors are cleaned up or replaced.
