Played with a guy in west texas. No lag, just a bit of frame dropping every now and then. I have to say that the Gamespy client app is pretty sweet. The mapping feature and ping charting is really well done.

funsdead.... I don't know if you have thought about this yet or not.... If you plan on having the Xbox upstairs & your computer downstairs... You are going to be doing alot of running up and downstairs to setup games on gamespy then back upstairs to play...
I have a laptop so it's no big deal... But if you don't have a lap top I guess you could displya the computer screen on your TV and have a wireless keyboard & mouse... just a thought
Hope I didn't burst your bubble

If you've got the ports, might as well get two cables and run them both. Use the 2nd one for the laptop. Or, run one down and get a 2nd hub and 2 short cables from the 2nd hub to the xbox and pc.

I meant rather than run up and down the stairs, run two cables to where the xbox is and plug your laptop into one of them. Both of those cables go into the router.

Guys.....
I bought the 50ft cable over the weekend and I'm on. Halo is cool but the latency sucks arse. I am experiencing so much lag it's ridiculous. Any of you guys wanna get together and try playing????
BTW what should i expect. I have a cable modem which only supports 384k upstream like most all cable modems. DSL only supports 128k upstream right??? anyway I did some reading and found out that 128k is required per person for halo.....does this mean only two of us can play from my xbox console....
