When is an S2000 not an S2000?
The recent thread about mods by Carolinas' owners has me wondering. When do mods cause the S2000 to no longer be an S2000? I thought at first that it might be when forced induction is introduced. Then I thought it might be more subtle, like when the suspension is modified. Recently I've been inclined to think that, due to the purity and completness of the original design, ANY mod takes away from the initial design and is an attempt to make the car something that it wasn't intended to be.
I suppose there is such a thing as an "enhanced" S2000, but...is there? Your thoughts, please.

i say it stays an s2000 until you replace the engine or do something crazy to the chassis. As i see it, mods arent taking away from the original design, they are simply individualizing the car. Honda designs the car to attract the broadest spectrum of people while still staying true to their philosophy. Mods simply individualize it and make it cater towards your desires. Sure honda couldve put a comptech or AEM style intake instead of teh stock one, but perhaps it wouldnt have appealed to everyone, so they made an intake that mainly dealt with sound suppression. FI is pushing it as honda only came out with 1 FI car to my knowledge and it wasnt in teh US and it seems FI is against honda's philosophy. But its still your car and its still an s2000, you just individualize it to your specific tastes.
