So lets say I might be moving in the next year, and the location I might be moving to is in the Winston Salem area of North Carolina. Can anyone tell me about the area? I currently live and work in Hanahan, SC, which may as well be Charleston (where I went to school). I graduated with a computer science degree, but for the last 4 years have been doing primarily network related work. What are my odds of finding a job in the area? I have a feeling I'm about to take a massive pay cut

Sounds like the Raleigh area would be better, but I wouldnt imagine you'll have a problem finding work in WS. If nothing else, I know Dell has a manufacturing facility there. But between WS and Greensboro, both decently sized cities, there should be a decent amount of jobs.

I've lived in W-S since January. There's not a whole lot here. It's a nice area, has a decent sized mall and lots of places to eat, movie theater, all the usual stuff. It's very easy to find your way around too. I suggest visiting once if you can so you can get a feel for the area

Greensboro has more going on, its about 30 min to the east.

It probably won't be for another year, so I'll have plenty of chances to visit on the weekends. My girlfriend got a job at Wake Forest medical center, so if I'm going to make her an honest woman, well I'll be moving up there for her.
