Default Whats new in S2k land?

Hi All,

It has been just over 2 years since I traded by S2000 for a RX-8. For those that dont know me, I did it because we were having a kid and I needed to have a car with backseats that was still sporty.

The RX8 is a great car but the S2000 was more fun. I could give you the pros and cons to each but it honestly is comparing oranges to apples. The 9k redline and close hp numbers are really the only similarities.

I generally keep a car about 3 - 3.5 years. I am keeping my eyes open for what is coming in 2008.

At this point, I am leaning towards a G35 towards the end of next year based on the rumors of the specs of the 2008. Lets see what the truth is though.

I was hoping Honda/Acura would come up with a new sports car by 2008 but I havent seen any.

I also just wanted to say hello to all the group here and check and see how things are going.

Hi, Dean I'm a newbie. I just wanted to say Hi and show you a pic of my "12 year old" Del Sol . I have a Berliner '04 S2000 that I waited 4 years to get . Before the Del Sol, I had a Civic hatch back for 11 years . I'm a very committed Honda owner and feel the reliability is always there.

Mike,

You still have your white S2k? How are things going?

FastLady.

Yes I like Honda Reliability also. They just dont have the car that fits my taste and needs at this time. I honestly wish I could have the RX-8, the S2000, and my wife's 4Runner but that would be stretching it a bit then.

What do you guys think about getting together a mixed group of RX-8s and S2000s to do a blue ridge run one day? I think it would be a lot of fun. I just need to get new potenza's on my RX-8.

Hi, Dean!

Haven't seen you since our Blue Ridge Run a couple of years ago...just the 3 of us...reaching XXX digits a few times !!! I hope your family is doing well.

I might be up for a Blue Ridge run again...but probably at more reasonable mph's. I hear the Park Rangers are really frowning on excessive speeds...nowadays !

Excessive speeds? Who me? Never. I think it would be kind of fun. We could call it the 9k car run or something.

I will be posting about this event once I get the new tires and figure out a good date.

It's odd you posted this. I stopped by here to do this exact thing. I can remember a time when I wouldn't go a single day without coming to S2ki. Now that the S has been gone for a while now I don't really think about stopping by anymore. I still recognize a few of the names, and see a bunch that I don't.

The Prelude is treating me well, but it'll never be an S. I hope to have another someday, I'm just not willing to go into debt again to do it.

Hope all is well.
