Alright... I guess I should give my impressions...

Sedan...
I think the overall shape is Ford 500-ish while some of the individual features (lights, etc.) lean towards Hyundias. In other words (and as I said above), Camry-ish. Sure, it's kinda boring, but it's a sedan.

As I've tried to look at the car as a whole, I find that in person it may very well have quite a classy presence for an otherwise average sedan (average being not quite economy yet not quite luxury). Based on appearances alone, I feel as though it could carry more class than anything from Ford, certainly the Camry, and quite possibly anything else in the competing class. I'll reserve my final judgement until I see it in person.

Coupe...
Ever since Honda began differentiating the Accord sedan and coupe (aside from the # of doors - last two gens) I've not really had a whole lot of fondness for the coupes. They've been not sporty enough, yet not really practical enough for not really being sporty (if that makes any sense). I think this generation may change that. While it doesn't appear to be the sportiest coupe on the road, it's size suggest a minimal compromise of utility compared to the sedan.

Appearance-wise, the front is aggressive. IMO the jury is out on the character lines on the side until I seen it in person and the rear reminds me of the current Civic coupe which I tend to feel is frumpy. I have high hopes that the whole package just works when seen in person. I guess we'll see.

One thing that has disappointed me with Accords is that the manual has only been offered in the 4-cyl models. With the higher HP V6 engines that are being predicted I'd love to see an AWD version (not holding my breath) and would certainly love to see a 6-speed.

 

I like the looks of an S2000. I am sure most of you have had someone approach you and gawk at your car. I have never owned an S2000 as most of you know, but soo many people approached me about my lotus.

Heres the scenario:

Boring Person: Woah! Nice car! Ill trade you! (not knowing I paid under $40,000)

Me: (Looking at their brand new $60,000 SUV) Ok, wheres the title? Has it been in any wrecks or had any mechanical problems?

Boring Person: How fast does it go? I would LOVE to have a car like that. What did it cost? $100,000?

They could have a nice sports car, but instead they have an SUV that they drive alone. This happened at least once a week, not including the people that I didnt want to approach me.

I know at least someone has had this happen with their S2000. I am not dissing on the Accord. I am thinking of buying a highly used one right now. They have their purpose. I just made the "boring" comment because it is a lot less interesting to talk about than the S2000 on an S2000 site!

that sedan has TL written all over it, well, mainly along the side. See the groove in the side and the door handles? Total TL.....

 

I'd rock the two door coupe for sure! Looks great.

 

I really like the coupe, after all my previous car was a 2003 Accord Coupe V-6, great power, smooth, quiet, and roomy. This new model looks like a good evolution of the previous generation. Everything looks well proportioned and the sheet metal under the quarter glass doesn't look as "blank" compared to the '03-'07 models. My only complaints with last generation Accord's was the reputation for the V-6 transmissions to die prematurely (although mine was fine when I traded it in for the S), defective CD players early one, and the tape pealing off the black window molding. I hope this generation isn't plagued with the transmission issues from the previous 2 generations.
